Community Guidelines

Last updated: [DATE]

Nexus is a place to message, call, and build groups and channels. These Guidelines explain what is and isn’t allowed, and how we enforce the rules. They apply alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. What is not allowed

Do not use Nexus to post, send or share:

These categories match the reasons you can choose when you submit a report in the app, plus a free-text “Other” option.

2. Reporting

You can report a message, a channel post, a user, a group or a channel directly in the app. Choose a reason; if you pick “Other”, you can describe the issue in your own words. Reports reach our moderation team, who review them with the surrounding context.

3. How we enforce

Enforcement is graduated and applies only within the specific group or channel where the violation happened — it does not disable your Nexus account elsewhere. A typical strike progression is:

1st strike — official warning.
2nd strike — temporary restriction (limited posting).
3rd strike — temporary ban in the group/channel.
Severe or repeated — permanent ban in the group/channel.

Serious violations (for example, child-safety or terrorism) may lead to immediate removal and a permanent ban without prior warnings, and may be reported to authorities. An entire group or channel may be blocked if it is dedicated to or repeatedly used for prohibited content.

Every measure is recorded with the moderator, the affected user, the reason, the evidence, the date, the duration and the status, and is kept in our audit logs.

4. Notices and appeals

When a measure is applied, you receive an official in-app notice from the relevant community describing the reason and, for temporary measures, the expiry date. When you open a group or channel where you are banned, you will see the same information. If you believe a decision is wrong, use the Appeal option on the notice — your appeal goes to our moderation team for review.
